Northmont boys soccer team tops Lebanon 2-1
Clayton - It was a tale of two halves Thursday, Sept. 2 at Northmont's Good Samaritan Stadium as the Thunderbolts hosted Lebanon in boys soccer.. Northmont dominated time of possession and took twice as many shots on goal as Lebanon, 10-5, in the first 40 minutes of play.

Northmont defeats Lady Aviators 2-1
For a majority of the first half Aug. 25 the Vandalia-Butler girls soccer team controlled the ball and kept Northmont pinned back defending its goal.

Northmont took awhile to adjust to the Lady Aviators' attack, which featured three players up front instead of the usual two, and the momentum began to shift. The Lady Bolts applied solid pressure to the Butler goal and finally broke the 0-0 deadlock with 20:09 remaining.

Clayton Fire Dept. recognized for fund-raising effort
The Clayton Fire Department is giving the boot to muscular dystrophy - the Golden Boot, that is, filled with money to help fight the disease.

During the June 29 Clayton City Council meeting, Renee Kampaus of the Miami Valley Muscular Dystrophy Association, presented the Golden Boot Award to the Clayton Fire Department /AFF Local 4379 for collecting funds to donate to MDA.
